A love calculator takes two names and returns a percentage. That is the whole trick, and it is worth being honest about it up front: no calculator can measure love, chemistry or long-term compatibility from a pair of names. What it can do is give you a playful, repeatable number to react to. That reaction, whether you laugh, groan or immediately text your crush, is where the fun lives.

This guide explains how the LovePad calculator arrives at its number, how to read it sensibly, and how to turn a result into a card or link you can send to someone.

How the LovePad love percentage is calculated

LovePad follows a simple, transparent recipe:

  1. Clean the names. Letters are lower-cased, accents are folded away and extra spaces are ignored, so "José" and "jose" count as the same name.
  2. Ignore the order. The two names are sorted before they are combined, so "Aiza & Zayan" and "Zayan & Aiza" always match. Nobody gets a different answer for going first.
  3. Mix the characters. Every character feeds a small rolling hash, the same kind of arithmetic software uses to turn text into a number.
  4. Land on 40 to 99. The final value is mapped into a range that never drops below 40% and tops out at 99%.

Because every step is deterministic, the same two names always give the same result on any device, today or next year. That repeatability is what makes a result shareable: when you send a friend your link, they see exactly the number you saw.

It also means the calculator has no idea who you are. It does not know whether you have been together for ten years or ten minutes, whether you speak the same language, or whether you want the same things. It only knows letters.

Why a score between 40% and 99%?

A 3% result is not funny, it is just rude, and nobody wants to share it. A 100% result feels like a lie. LovePad deliberately keeps results in a range where every score is a prompt for conversation: a high score is a compliment, a middle score is a challenge, and even the lowest score reads as "an unexpected story" rather than a verdict.

How to read your result

Think of your percentage the way you would think of a horoscope or a fortune cookie. It is a conversation starter.

If you want a version of compatibility that is actually useful, skip the percentage and talk about the things that predict how two people get on: how you handle disagreement, what you want your days to look like, how you each feel about money, family and time alone. Our articles on relationship communication and trust and the signs of true love go much deeper than any score can.

Choosing a love card style

After you calculate, LovePad shows a live preview of your card, and you can switch styles before you download:

Each card shows both names, the percentage and a short romantic message. You can also pick the Story size, which is 1080 by 1920 pixels and fits Instagram Stories, WhatsApp Status and TikTok without cropping.

Adding photos

You can add a photo for each person. The photos are cropped to a circle, shown on the card and used only in your browser. They are not uploaded anywhere and they are not included in share links. If you skip photos, the card shows each person's initial instead, which also looks good.

How to download and share your love card

  1. Enter both names on the calculator and press the button.
  2. Choose a card style and a size.
  3. Press Download PNG to save the image to your device.
  4. Press Share on a phone to open the native share sheet. On computers without a share sheet, LovePad copies your link instead.
  5. Or press Copy link and paste it wherever you like.

Your share link looks like `lovepad.app/result/?a=Aiza&b=Zayan&t=dreamy`. It contains the two names and the card style, and nothing else. When someone opens it, they land on a result page that draws the same card, lets them download it, and invites them to calculate their own. Nothing is stored on a server, which is why the link keeps working and why it never exposes more than the names you chose to share.

One honest limitation: an image sent on its own cannot send people to a website. A picture is just pixels. If you want friends to land on LovePad, send the link, or send the image and the link together. Many apps will show a small preview of the link, but that preview is the same generic LovePad preview for every result, because creating a unique preview image for every possible pair of names would need a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is the love calculator accurate?

No. It is entertainment. It does not measure real compatibility and it cannot predict a relationship. Treat the number as a game.

Why do I get the same result every time?

Because the calculation is deterministic. The same pair of names always produces the same percentage, in either order.

Are my names or photos stored?

No. Calculations happen in your browser. Your names are only in the link if you choose to copy and share it, and photos are never included.

Can I use the cards for a birthday or anniversary post?

Of course. Many people use them as a fun caption image. Just remember the number is a joke, so pair it with something sincere.
